Lifestyle images on Google, all five custom labels on Pinterest and TikTok

Google Shopping feeds can send the photo of a product in use as a lifestyle image, and Pinterest and TikTok feeds now carry custom_label_1 to custom_label_4 next to custom_label_0.

Google shows a lifestyle image, the product in use or in a setting, next to the packshot in some listings. The Google Shopping feed now has an optional lifestyle image field. Shopify does not mark which photo that is, so the feed sends nothing until you pick it, for example the second image in the gallery.

Pinterest and TikTok build product sets and campaigns from custom labels. Their feeds used to carry only custom_label_0. They now have all five, so labels you already use on Google can go to Pinterest and TikTok as well.

One fix in product selection: a compare-at price that is not above the price no longer counts as a discount. A feed limited to products on sale now leaves out products whose compare-at price equals the price, the same way the feed already left out their sale price.
