Kieskeurig.nl feed for Shopify
Kieskeurig.nl is the Dutch price comparison and review site, with a Flemish twin in Belgium. It pairs your offer onto a product card by EAN, brand and type, and a product with a missing mandatory field simply never appears, with no error report to tell you why. Feedflock turns your Shopify catalog into the pricefeed Kieskeurig expects, built from their own archived specification and sample feeds, and keeps it fresh on a stable URL they fetch about ten times a day.

Setup
Live in five steps
From a bare Shopify store to a listed offer: the whole setup fits into one coffee break.
Apply as a Kieskeurig partner
Joining is gated on the shop, not the feed: a KvK registration at least a year old under the same owner, a shop live for six months, a visiting address, phone, e-mail and a returns form, plus a contract and the one-time €350 joining fee.
Install Feedflock
Add Feedflock from the Shopify App Store. It reads your products, variants, stock and images directly through the Shopify API.
Pick the Kieskeurig.nl template
Create a new feed and choose the Kieskeurig.nl template. All ten mandatory elements (id, productgroep, merk, type, ean-code, prijs, verzendkosten, levertijd, deeplink and imagelink) are mapped from the start.
Check EANs, shipping and delivery time
Kieskeurig states one barcode length only: the 13-digit EAN. Set verzendkosten to your real minimum cost to the door. It is mandatory and decides ranking. Keep levertijd on Kieskeurig's own notations, like 1-3 dagen.
Send the URL for validation
There is no self-service validator: mail the feed URL to datamanagement@kieskeurig.nl and their team validates it by hand before the first import. Feedflock keeps the URL stable, so there is nothing to re-send afterwards.

Catch feed issues before Kieskeurig.nl does.
Before every generation Feedflock checks that every field the channel requires is filled, and, on templates verified against the channel's own spec, that the values fit its rules. Most problems are fixed with one click, without editing products in Shopify.

The channel
The Dutch comparison veteran
Kieskeurig.nl combines price comparison with product reviews, and its Flemish twin Kieskeurig.be covers Belgium. You pay a one-time joining fee and then only for the visitors it actually sends you.
Pairing runs on the EAN
Kieskeurig attaches your price to its product page by the 13-digit EAN, helped by brand and type. Their own manual is blunt about it: the more EANs in your feed, the better the traffic you get.
The lowest total price wins
The shop with the lowest price including shipping tops the price page; ties break on delivery time and review score. That makes the mandatory verzendkosten field a ranking lever, not a formality.
The feed
- A template built from Kieskeurig's own sample feed: root <products>, one <product> per variant, and the sample's exact element names (including the hyphenated ean-code and toevoeging-type), so the feed imports without a mapping conversation
- All ten mandatory elements mapped from the start, and a required field left unmapped is reported before the feed ships: the gap Kieskeurig's FAQ names as the usual reason a product never appears
- Prices go out as Kieskeurig's samples write them: incl. VAT and levies, a dot decimal, no € or EUR, with verzendkosten on the same decimal separator
- levertijd suggests only Kieskeurig's own eight notations (24 uur through Onbekend), including the exact "Op werkdagen voor 17:00 uur besteld, morgen in huis" form their "24 uur" notation requires
- Every variant is its own <product> with the colour or size in toevoeging-type (mandatory the moment two rows share a type), and a sold-out variant correctly ships <voorraad>0</voorraad>
- The feed lives on a stable URL, regenerated every hour, ready for the roughly ten fetches a day Kieskeurig performs
Deep dive
A feed checked by a person
- Kieskeurig has no public validator and no merchant portal with feed errors: validation is a person at datamanagement@kieskeurig.nl
- Every feed is checked by hand before the first import
- Renaming a column or tag should be announced to them before it ships
- The feed must be reachable at a fixed
URLoverHTTP,HTTPS,FTPorSFTP, inUTF-8 orISO-8859-1, fetched about ten times a day
Technical details
Kieskeurig works differently from the self-serve comparison sites: there is no public validator, and no portal page that lists your feed's errors. You mail the feed URL to datamanagement@kieskeurig.nl, a person validates it and shares improvement points, and every feed is checked by hand before the first import. If you later change the structure (a column order in a CSV, a tag name in XML), they ask to be told first.
The transport fits the hosted model exactly: a fixed URL, fetched about ten times a day, over HTTP, HTTPS, FTP or SFTP. Feedflock hosts the file on a stable URL and regenerates it every hour, so each of those fetches reads data at most an hour old, and the URL never moves.
Pairing runs on EAN, brand and a clean type
- The 13-digit
EANis the pairing key, helped by merk and type; an empty ean-code is legal, a wrong length is the only stated form - type must be the bare model designation: the brand belongs in merk, not in the title
- productgroep holds one kind of product per value, levels joined by " > "; accessories get their own group name
- Kieskeurig maps your productgroep text onto its own groups. There is no published category tree to match against
Technical details
Kieskeurig attaches your price to its product page by the ean-code, helped by merk and type. Thirteen digits is the only length they state (a Shopify barcode holding a GTIN-14 sits outside it), and a genuinely unknown EAN may stay empty. Their partner FAQ names a missing ean-code as the usual reason a product from the feed never appears on the site.
The type element must be the bare model designation, with the brand in its own merk field: their example is merk Canon, type "Ixus 70". The default mapping sends the Shopify product title, which on many shops still starts with the vendor, so strip it where you can. The productgroep is your own text path, levels joined by " > ", one kind of product per value. No phone cases under "smartphone". Kieskeurig maps it onto its own groups; the tree itself is not published.
Price plus shipping decides the ranking
- prijs is the consumer price incl.
BTWand every levy that rides with it, no € orEUR, dot decimal - verzendkosten is the total minimum cost to the door, mandatory; 0 means free, omitted means a missing mandatory field
- afhaalkosten covers pickup too, including parcel networks like Kiala,
TNTPakjeGemak andDHL - The lowest price plus shipping tops the price page; ties break on delivery time, weighted review score and review count
Technical details
The prijs element carries the consumer price including BTW and the levies that come with certain products: the private-copying levy and the disposal fee belong inside the price, shipping does not. No currency sign, a dot decimal, and the same decimal separator as verzendkosten.
verzendkosten is the total minimum cost of getting the product to the customer's door, and it is mandatory. An omitted verzendkosten is not read as "we don't ship"; it is a missing mandatory field, and the product silently stays off the site. It is also the ranking key: the lowest price plus shipping tops the price page, with delivery time and reviews as the tiebreak. Pickup costs go in afhaalkosten, required whenever collection costs extra, including parcel-shop networks.
Sold-out stays listed: emptying the feed pauses nothing
- There is no in-stock enum: levertijd is Dutch free text Kieskeurig maps onto eight notations, from "24 uur" to "Onbekend"
- Only "24 uur" has a required form: "Op werkdagen voor [xx.xx] uur besteld, morgen in huis"
- voorraad is an optional number (a count or a plain 1/0), and a sold-out variant stays in the feed with 0
- Emptying the feed does not pause the listing: an automatic backup keeps showing the last fetched data; mail datamanagement@kieskeurig.nl to pause
Technical details
Kieskeurig's pricefeed has no availability enum. levertijd is free text (the minimum time to the customer's door or pickup point) that Kieskeurig maps onto eight notations of its own: 24 uur, 1-2 dagen, 1-3 dagen, 3-4 dagen, t/m 5 dagen, 5+ dagen, pre-order and Onbekend. Sending one of those verbatim skips the guesswork; the template's defaults do exactly that, and only "24 uur" demands a literal sentence. A sold-out variant stays in the feed with <voorraad>0</voorraad>. Kieskeurig removes nothing for being unavailable.
Two traps are worth knowing. The specification itself is offline: the spec pages 404 today, so the template is pinned to archived copies of Kieskeurig's own pages and sample feeds. And emptying the feed does not pause your listing: an automatic backup keeps showing the last fetched data. To pause, mail datamanagement@kieskeurig.nl.
The takeaway
A pricefeed in the shape of Kieskeurig's own sample, every mandatory element mapped, the thirteen-digit EAN in its own field, on a stable URL that survives all ten daily fetches. Your Shopify catalog stays the source of truth, and their team gets a feed that validates on the first look.
