Pepita.hu feed for Shopify
Pepita.hu is a Hungarian marketplace: it lists your products, sells them in its own checkout and pushes the orders back to you by API. The feed is your only way to maintain price, stock and content. Pepita allows no manual or spreadsheet edits. Feedflock builds that feed from your Shopify catalog in Pepita's Catalog XML, with variations nested the way Pepita's own sample shows them, and regenerates it every hour.

A discount is two prices, not one.
While a product is on sale, Price carries the regular (compare-at) price and DiscountedPrice the current one. Pepita's pricing rules add their own discipline: a new product may be promoted only after 14 days, and the discounted price must undercut the product's best price of the last 30 days.
Three photos reach the feed. Pepita recommends four.
Pepita requires at least one photo per product (at least 1200 × 630 px, jpg or png) and recommends four. The feed writes the main photo plus two more from the gallery; a fourth slot is a known template gap, so today anything beyond the third stays on your Shopify only.
Catch feed issues before Pepita does.
Before every generation Feedflock checks that every field the channel requires is filled, and, on templates verified against the channel's own spec, that the values fit its rules. Most problems are fixed with one click, without editing products in Shopify.
Setup
Live in five steps
From a bare Shopify store to a listed offer: the whole setup fits into one coffee break.
Become a Pepita partner
Contact Pepita and agree the cooperation. At onboarding Pepita asks whether your feed contains variation products and whether shipping cost and delivery time come from the feed or from central settings.
Install Feedflock
Add Feedflock from the Shopify App Store. It reads your products, variants, stock and tax settings directly through the Shopify API.
Pick the Pepita template
Create a new feed from the Pepita.hu template. Id, name, description, gross price with VAT, category, photos and availability are mapped from the start, with one product per Shopify product and its variations nested.
Send the feed URL to Pepita
Hand the hosted URL to your dedicated Pepita contact. Pepita pulls it on its own schedule: stock roughly every hour, prices and descriptions once a day.
Wait for the content team's match
New products go live only after Pepita's content team matches your category names to its taxonomy and checks the mandatory fields. After that, the feed keeps everything current on its own.

The channel
A marketplace that sells for you
Pepita lists your products, collects payment in its own checkout and pushes orders to your store by API. You ship with your own courier or Pepita's delivery programme; the commercial terms stay between you and Pepita.
One feed, more countries
The same company runs pepita.com with ship-to countries beyond Hungary: Romania, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia and Poland. The same XML format serves them, with the currency matching the target site.
Stock that keeps up
Pepita re-reads stock from the feed roughly every hour, so a size that sold out in your Shopify stops selling on Pepita within the hour. Prices and content follow once a day.
The feed
- The Pepita template emits the Catalog XML from Pepita's own specification: one product per Shopify product, variations nested as option values, exactly like Pepita's official sample
- The product name goes out as the plain title, never with the colour or size appended. Pepita's content guide asks for exactly that on multi-variant products
- A sold-out variant stays in the feed with Available false and Quantity 0, the signal Pepita's sample itself ships, instead of silently disappearing
- Prices go out gross in HUF with the VAT rate per product from your Shopify tax settings: 27 by default, 0 for non-taxable goods
- On sale, the compare-at price goes to Price and the discounted price to DiscountedPrice; off sale, DiscountedPrice is left out entirely
- UTF-8 with escaped values, the description in CDATA and URLs without raw spaces, the formatting rules Pepita's spec spells out
- Fetch tracking shows when Pepita last pulled the feed and alerts you if it stops
Deep dive
A marketplace, not a comparison site
- Pepita lists the product, sells it in its own checkout and pushes the order to you by
API - Price, stock and description can only be maintained from the feed, with no manual or Excel edits
- A manual edit in the seller interface is overwritten by the next feed update
- New products go live after Pepita's content team matches your categories by hand
Technical details
Pepita.hu works the opposite way from Heureka or Zboží: there is no bidding for clicks and no traffic sent to your site. Pepita shows your product, takes the order in its own checkout and pushes it to your store over its API, one way, from Pepita to you.
That also makes the feed the only maintenance channel. Pepita does not let you edit the price, stock or description of a product manually or with a spreadsheet. The feed is the sole source, and a manual change in the seller interface is overwritten by the next feed update. New products are processed by Pepita's content team, which matches the category names you send to its own taxonomy before anything appears on the site.
One product, variations nested
- One product entry per product, with the variations inside it: the shape of Pepita's own sample
- A variation is keyed by its option values; there is deliberately no per-variation ID or
GTIN - The product name stays the plain title; colour and size live in the variation axes
- Once a product is submitted as a variation product, Pepita says it must not be changed back
Technical details
Pepita's feed groups a product's variants into a single entry: one Id, one name, one price block, and a Variations section that names the axes (colour, size) and lists each combination with its own availability and, when they differ, its own price. Pepita's official sample does exactly this, and the template follows it.
Two consequences are worth knowing. A variation carries no identifier of its own: Pepita keys it by the option values, so per-size EANs have no slot in the feed. And the product name is the plain title, because Pepita's content guide asks you to avoid the colour in the name of a multi-variant product; the variations carry the distinguishing values.
Prices, VAT and discounts
- Price is the gross,
VAT-inclusive price; theVATrate travels separately as VatPercent - A price of 0 is not accepted by Pepita's system
- On sale, Price holds the regular price and DiscountedPrice the current one
- A new product may be promoted only after 14 days, and a discount must undercut the best price of the last 30 days
Technical details
Every product sends a gross price in the feed's currency (HUF on pepita.hu) with the VAT rate as a separate number, 27 for standard-rated goods. Pepita explicitly rejects a price of 0, so the template sends the compare-at price while a product is on sale and the regular price otherwise.
Discounts follow Pepita's own pricing rules: a new product can only be promoted after 14 days on the site, and the discounted price of an older product must be lower than its best price of the last 30 days. The feed carries the pair (regular price in Price, discounted in DiscountedPrice), and the calendar discipline stays on you.
Stock hourly, content daily
- Pepita re-reads stock from the feed roughly every hour; prices and descriptions once a day
- A sold-out variation stays in the feed with Available false, because a missing row is the ambiguous signal
- Shipping cost and delivery time are central settings; per-product overrides live in the feed
- ShippingDelay is your warehouse handling time in working days, added to the courier's transit time
Technical details
Pepita pulls the feed on two clocks: stock roughly every hour, prices and descriptions once a day. Because wrong stock means wrong purchases, Pepita asks you to keep availability current, and to keep sold-out products in the feed with Available false rather than dropping them, which is what Pepita's own sample shows.
Delivery terms are agreed centrally at onboarding and configured in the Seller Center, and they must be completed even with a feed. Two per-product overrides exist for the exceptions: ShippingPrice, the shipping fee for an oversize item that differs from your default, and ShippingDelay, a handling time in working days that overrides the central warehouse setting for that product.
The takeaway
One URL, an hourly refresh and a template that already speaks Pepita's Catalog XML, variations included. Your Shopify catalog stays the only place you edit, and Pepita's hourly stock reads always see its current state.
