wein.cc feed for Shopify
wein.cc (Die Wein-Suchmaschine) is the German-language wine price comparison that searches the range of over 300 wine merchants and shows current wine prices in real time. Feedflock turns your Shopify catalog into the WEINCCEXPORT XML file its specification defines (the four required fields mapped, gross euro prices, the real stock count) and hosts it on the stable URL their robot re-downloads every ten minutes.

Your product types. The channel's categories.
The channel files offers under its own category tree. Feedflock suggests a category for each Shopify product type and you just confirm. One mapping covers every product of that type, including products you add later.
Catch feed issues before wein.cc does.
Before every generation Feedflock checks that every field the channel requires is filled, and, on templates verified against the channel's own spec, that the values fit its rules. Most problems are fixed with one click, without editing products in Shopify.
Setup
Live in five steps
From a bare Shopify store to a listed offer: the whole setup fits into one coffee break.
Sign up with wein.cc
Registration is free, but onboarding is a signed CPC contract: fill it in, sign it and fax it or send a scan with your trade licence (Gewerbenachweis). Bids start at 15 cents per click, with no fixed costs and no contract binding.
Install Feedflock
Add Feedflock from the Shopify App Store. It reads your products, variants, stock and images directly through the Shopify API.
Pick the wein.cc template
Create a new feed and choose the wein.cc template. The four required fields (ARTIKELNUMMER, PREIS, PRODUKTNAME and PRODUKTURL) are mapped from the start, and PRODUZENT fills from your Shopify vendor.
Map the wine attributes
Shopify has no field for vintage, grape or bottle size, so JAHRGANG, REBSORTE and LITER ship empty. Map them once from metafields: wines without a vintage or producer are mostly ignored by wein.cc's editorial filter.
Paste the feed URL into the extranet
Enter the hosted feed URL in the wein.cc extranet under Profil. Their robot checks the file every ten minutes and downloads it whenever it changed, so there is nothing to re-upload.

The channel
The wine search engine
wein.cc automatically searches the range of over 300 wine merchants and vinotheques and shows current wine prices in real time, with 72% of its audience in Germany, plus Austria, Switzerland and Southern Europe.
A robot that checks every ten minutes
wein.cc's robot checks your export for changes every ten minutes and downloads it the moment it changes. With Feedflock regenerating the file every hour, a new price or vintage reaches the comparison on its own.
CPC from 15 cents, nothing else
Billing is per click with a minimum bid of 15 cents: no fixed costs, no contract binding, free registration. You can raise your CPC online at any time for a better ranking.
The feed
- The template renders exactly the spec's XML: the WEINCCEXPORT root with its technik.wein.cc namespace, one PRODUKT per variant and the element order of wein.cc's own sample
- All four required fields are mapped from the start: ARTIKELNUMMER from the SKU with the variant ID as fallback, so the unique key is never empty, and PRODUKTURL as a deep link that preselects the variant
- PRODUZENT fills from the Shopify vendor (the field whose absence gets offers mostly ignored) with the full name and no abbreviations, as the spec asks
- Vintage, grape variety, bottle size, region and country map once from metafields; nothing is guessed, because wein.cc removes wines with a wrong grape variety
- LAGERSTAND sends the real Shopify stock count and sold-out variants are excluded by default: only LAGERSTAND>0 is listed, and a sold-out offer can pause your whole presentation
- Prices go out gross with a dot decimal and no currency sign, and a multi-bottle pack carries the bottle price, exactly as the spec requires
- KATEGORIE maps to the closed list of 24 wein.cc categories, comma-separated when a wine belongs to several, so a rosé sekt goes out as “Schaumwein, Rosewein”
Deep dive
How wein.cc reads your feed
- One static
XMLfile on a stableURL, entered in the extranet under Profil - Their robot checks it every ten minutes and downloads it only when it changed
- Conditional
GETvia Last-Modified or ETag is a hosting property they explicitly ask for - Feedflock hosts the file on a stable
URLand regenerates it every hour
Technical details
wein.cc pulls; the merchant hosts. The contract is explicit: you enter the URL of your price list in the extranet under Profil, and their robot checks your export every ten minutes, downloading the file when it changed and updating the data at wein.cc immediately. Their own example is a static file at an address like /export/wein.cc.xml.
That is precisely the model Feedflock provides: a hosted file on a stable URL, regenerated every hour. wein.cc also asks the hosting to support conditional GET with Last-Modified or ETag, a property of the hosting, not of the feed. You paste the URL once; there is nothing to upload again.
A vocabulary written for wine
- 22 elements, four of them required:
ARTIKELNUMMER,PREIS,PRODUKTNAME,PRODUKTURL - Wine identity has its own fields:
JAHRGANG,LITER,ALK,REBSORTE,LAND,REGION,ORT PREISis the gross euro price with a dot decimal, per bottle, never per caseLAGERSTANDis a stock count, not a status: onlyLAGERSTAND>0 is listed
Technical details
The format knows wine. Alongside the four required fields there are elements for vintage, bottle size in litres, alcohol content, grape variety, country, region and village or vineyard. PRODUZENT is not starred, but the editorial rules make it near-mandatory: products without a producer are mostly ignored, and the producer's full first and last name is requested.
The price is a gross euro amount with a dot as the decimal separator and no currency anywhere in the format, and for a multi-bottle pack it is always the price of one bottle. Availability is a number: LAGERSTAND carries the stock count, only counts above zero are listed, and the shopper sees bands like “sufficient quantity” above twelve.
Filtering instead of error messages
- wein.cc publishes no validator and no error report: unsuitable offers are silently filtered
- Dropped or edited: a missing producer, a missing vintage, a wrong grape, a “double vintage” like 2007/2008
- Only packs of 1, 3, 6 and 12 bottles are displayed; promo words like “Aktion” are stripped from names
- Two rules bind the shop itself: no minimum order or multiple of 6, and no popups on product pages
Technical details
wein.cc never tells you when it drops an offer. Its FAQ answers “why doesn't my product appear” with a paragraph on filtering: products without a producer are mostly ignored, wines without a vintage are ignored when they have one, wrong grape varieties get removed, double vintages are not shown and annotations like “Aktion” or “Sonderpreis” are edited out of names. Larger packs than 1, 3, 6 or 12 bottles are ignored outright.
Feedflock's template maps the fields these filters look at (producer from the vendor, the rest from metafields you set once) and excludes sold-out variants by default, since a sold-out offer can pause your whole presentation. Two rules no feed can fix bind the shop itself: wein.cc forbids a minimum order quantity or a mandatory multiple of six, and popups on the landing pages.
Categories and article numbers
KATEGORIEis a closed list of 24 values, from Rotwein to Weinzubehör- A product may carry several categories, comma-separated, order irrelevant
ARTIKELNUMMERis a stable unique key of at most 32 characters, never reused- One
SKUacross vintages or pack sizes is concatenated: 12345.2012.12
Technical details
Categories are not a tree but a closed flat list of 24 German names: Rotwein, Weißwein, Schaumwein, Rosewein (spelled without the accent), Likör/Süßwein and more, up to glasses and wine accessories. A product may belong to several, separated by a comma, and the order does not matter.
ARTIKELNUMMER is the offer's identity: unique, at most 32 characters, never changed and never reused for another product. If your shop reuses one number across vintages or pack sizes, wein.cc asks you to concatenate them: SKU 12345, vintage 2012, pack of 12 becomes 12345.2012.12. The template keeps the key on your SKU, falling back to the Shopify variant ID, which never changes.
The takeaway
One stable URL, an hourly refresh and an XML that follows the wein.cc specification field for field. Your Shopify catalog stays the single source of truth, and their ten-minute robot always reads its current state.
