Partner-ads feed for Shopify

Partner-ads is a Danish affiliate network serving Denmark, Sweden and Norway: affiliate partners build product banners and whole catalogues from your product feed and promote your shop for a commission. Partner-ads asks for two things only, an XML feed built like its published example and a URL where it can reach it. Feedflock turns your Shopify catalog into exactly that XML and keeps it current on a stable URL, regenerated as often as every hour.

Sale prices

An old price only when there really is one.

Partner-ads' example carries two price elements: pris for the price you charge and gammelpris for the old one. Feedflock fills gammelpris from your compare-at price and leaves the element out when a product is not discounted, so no affiliate banner ever shows a markdown that does not exist. pris always carries the price your customer actually pays.

Feed health

Catch feed issues before Partner-ads does.

Before every generation Feedflock checks that every field the channel requires is filled, and, on templates verified against the channel's own spec, that the values fit its rules. Most problems are fixed with one click, without editing products in Shopify.

No image on 7 productsbilledurl is one of the five fields the template requires: a feed banner cannot show a product without a picture. These products have no image in Shopify.
Shipping cost is not setfragtomk ships empty on purpose: a hard-coded 0 would promise free delivery on every product. Partner-ads' own plugin treats it as one setting for the whole catalog.
Delivery time is not setleveringstid is free text such as "1-2 hverdage". The template invents no lead time. It is your promise to make.
No description on 6 productsproduktbeskrivelse is optional, but partners building catalogues show it. These products have no description in Shopify, so the element is left out.

Setup

Live in five steps

From a bare Shopify store to a listed offer: the whole setup fits into one coffee break.

  1. Open an advertiser programme

Join Partner-ads as an advertiser. The programme, its commission and the tracking script on your shop are agreed with Partner-ads directly. Denmark, Sweden and Norway each run as their own programme.

  2. Install Feedflock

Add Feedflock from the Shopify App Store. It reads your products, variants, stock and images directly through the Shopify API.

  3. Pick the Partner-ads template

Create a new feed and choose Partner-ads. The sixteen elements of Partner-ads' own example are ready: produktid, produktnavn, vareurl, billedurl and pris are mapped from the start, one produkt per variant, prices as bare dot-decimal numbers.

  4. Fill what only you can decide

Shipping cost (fragtomk) and delivery time (leveringstid) ship empty, because both are promises only you can make: set a flat rate and a "1-2 hverdage" once for the whole catalog. gender stays empty until you map it.

  5. E-mail the feed URL to Partner-ads

There is no feed form to fill in. Copy the hosted URL and send it to support@partner-ads.com, saying which programme (DK, SE or NO) it belongs to. Partner-ads maps the elements on its side.

Affiliates sell for you

Nobody buys on Partner-ads. Affiliate partners promote your shop on their own sites and are paid a commission, and the product feed widens what they can do: Partner-ads says about 40% of all clicks in its network now come via product feeds.

Banners and whole catalogues

With your feed, partners can build feed banners that automatically show selected products from your shop. Partners running a shopping portal or a price guide can be given access to download your whole range.

Three Nordic markets, one format

Partner-ads serves Denmark, Sweden and Norway with a separate programme per country and the same feed format in all three. One template covers them: create a feed per programme, each in its own currency.

The feed

  • The XML of Partner-ads' own published example: a produkter root, one produkt per variant, UTF-8
  • All sixteen elements from that example and nothing else, Danish names included, so no mapping conversation is needed
  • pris as a bare dot decimal with two places and no currency, the shape of the example's own placeholder
  • gammelpris only when a product is really discounted, from your compare-at price
  • lagerstatus in the two values Partner-ads' own plugin emits: in stock and out of stock
  • Plain, variant-pinned product URLs: Partner-ads builds the affiliate link itself
  • Sold-out variants stay in the feed, marked out of stock, instead of disappearing from partners' pages
  • A stable public URL, regenerated as often as every hour, with fetch tracking that shows when the feed was last downloaded

Deep dive

01

An example, not a specification

  • Partner-ads publishes one XML example: root produkter, item produkt, sixteen elements
  • Directly under it: you decide the tag names yourself
  • No required set, no value lists, no lengths and no error rules are published
  • Feedflock emits the example's own names, so nothing needs explaining
Technical details

Partner-ads does not specify a feed the way a comparison site does. Its product-feed page shows one XML example with sixteen elements, from kategorinavn to gender, and then adds a line that changes everything: you decide the tag names yourself. Partner-ads maps whatever arrives at your URL, which is why there is no required set, no vocabulary and no rejection rule to read.

Feedflock's template emits exactly the example's vocabulary, Danish names and all, on the reasoning that a feed matching what Partner-ads printed needs no mapping conversation. Five fields are required by the template (produktid, produktnavn, vareurl, billedurl and pris) because without them a product cannot be linked to or shown in a banner. Partner-ads itself marks nothing as required. The names are a convention, not a rule: Partner-ads maps them on its side either way.

02

Two requirements and an e-mail

  • Requirement one: a product feed in XML built like the example
  • Requirement two: Partner-ads can reach the feed via a URL at your end
  • Registration is an e-mail with the feed link to support@partner-ads.com
  • No fetch cadence, size cap or error reporting is published
Technical details

Partner-ads states exactly two requirements for a product feed: that it is XML built like the example, and that Partner-ads can get access to it via a URL, an http address, at your end. Registration is just as short. There is no form: you send a link to the feed to support@partner-ads.com and say which programme it belongs to.

What is not stated anywhere is how often Partner-ads re-fetches the file, how large it may be or how errors are reported. There is no validator either, so before you send the link, open the feed URL in a browser window with no session: if it needs a login, it will simply never be read. Feedflock hosts the feed on a public URL and regenerates it as often as every hour, so whenever the fetch comes, it reads current prices and stock.

03

Prices, currency and stock

  • pris is a dot decimal with two places: no symbol, no ISO code
  • There is no currency element: the programme's country decides the currency
  • gammelpris carries the compare-at price only when the product is on sale
  • lagerstatus uses in stock / out of stock, the values of Partner-ads' own plugin
Technical details

The example's price placeholder is the whole price specification: 9999.99, a dot decimal with two places, no currency symbol and no ISO code. The feed has no currency element at all, because the programme's country (Denmark, Sweden or Norway) decides it. Whether the price includes VAT is not stated either. Feedflock sends the price your customer pays in the shop, which is how Danish consumer prices are quoted.

The example gives lagerstatus no vocabulary, only a placeholder. The one place Partner-ads has ever written the values down is its own WooCommerce plugin, which sends the English words in stock and out of stock, so those are the template's two values. The same plugin lets a merchant choose whether sold-out products stay in the feed. Feedflock keeps them in and marks them, so a partner's page says unavailable instead of losing the product.

04

Shipping, delivery and three countries

  • fragtomk (shipping cost) and leveringstid (delivery time) are free text with no stated rules
  • Both ship empty: a static 0 would promise free delivery on everything
  • Partner-ads' own plugin treats both as one setting per country, so a constant is the intended shape
  • Selling in DKK, SEK and NOK means three feeds, one per programme
Technical details

Shipping in a Partner-ads feed is two free-text elements: fragtomk for the shipping cost and leveringstid for the delivery time, with no carriers, no number format and no unit. The template leaves both unmapped, because a hard-coded 0 would promise free delivery for every product. Partner-ads' own plugin makes both a setting the merchant types once per country, so one flat rate and one "1-2 hverdage" for the whole catalog is exactly the intended shape.

Because nothing in the file names the country or the currency, a shop selling to Denmark, Sweden and Norway creates three feeds from the same template and sends each URL to the matching programme. That is also how Partner-ads' own plugin works, with a separate feed link per country. In Feedflock each of them is its own feed with its own URL.

The takeaway

One URL, an hourly refresh and an XML that looks exactly like the example Partner-ads publishes: bare prices, an old price only when it is real, stock in the words Partner-ads' own plugin uses. Send the link once, and your Shopify catalog stays the single source of truth for every affiliate partner in the network.

FAQ

No. Right under its XML example Partner-ads says you decide the tag names yourself, and it maps the feed on its side. Feedflock uses the example's own names anyway, because a feed that looks like the documentation needs no explanation.
By e-mail. Partner-ads has no self-service feed form: you send a link to the feed to support@partner-ads.com and say which programme (DK, SE or NO) it belongs to. You need an active advertiser programme first.
Partner-ads does not publish a fetch cadence. Feedflock regenerates the file as often as every hour, so whenever it is fetched, it carries current prices and stock.
Nowhere in the file. The example has no currency element and pris is a bare number: the programme's country decides the currency. If you sell in Danish, Swedish and Norwegian kroner, create one feed per programme and send each URL to the matching one.
Because that is what Partner-ads' own software sends. The published example gives lagerstatus no values, and the only place they are written down is Partner-ads' WooCommerce plugin, which emits in stock and out of stock. A guessed Danish pair would look more natural and be wrong.
No. Send the plain product URL. Partner-ads builds the affiliate link itself, so the template's vareurl is the storefront address pinned to the variant, with nothing to maintain when campaigns change.
Yes. Filter by collection, tag, vendor, price or stock level, or leave out individual variants. The feed has one produkt per variant, so excluding a size or colour removes exactly that item.
