Kurpirkt.lv feed for Shopify
Kurpirkt.lv is Latvia's largest price-comparison and product-search portal, with 30,000 to 45,000 visitors a day and offers from more than 1,200 online shops. It is a search engine over shop offers, not a marketplace: the checkout stays with you. Feedflock renders your Shopify catalog into the UTF-8 XML file the joining conditions ask for (all eleven elements from Kurpirkt's own sample) and hosts it on a stable URL that Kurpirkt re-reads every day.

Setup
Live in five steps
From a bare Shopify store to a listed offer: the whole setup fits into one coffee break.
Meet the shop conditions
Kurpirkt reviews every application by hand: clear prices and payment methods on the shop, delivery or pickup anywhere in Latvia with a stated price, a returns process and warranty terms, and the Kurpirkt.lv partner banner on your home page.
Install Feedflock
Add Feedflock from the Shopify App Store. It reads your products, variants, stock and images directly through the Shopify API.
Pick the Kurpirkt.lv template
Create a new feed and choose the Kurpirkt.lv template. All eleven elements from the official sample are mapped from the start: name from the product and variant title, manufacturer from the vendor, category and category_full from your own product types.
Check categories and delivery
Make sure every product has a type: category is the leaf name and category_full the full path, and the path should end with the leaf. If you want delivery_cost_riga in the feed, set your real flat rate. There is no invented default of 0.
E-mail your application
Send the feed URL to kurpirkt@kurpirkt.lv together with links to your contact and delivery pages, your registration details and an admin e-mail. A person reviews the shop and an approval e-mail follows. If none arrives within a week, resend or phone +371 26533032.

Catch feed issues before Kurpirkt.lv does.
Before every generation Feedflock checks that every field the channel requires is filled, and, on templates verified against the channel's own spec, that the values fit its rules. Most problems are fixed with one click, without editing products in Shopify.

Where Latvia compares prices
Kurpirkt.lv is Latvia's largest price-comparison and product-search portal, run by SIA Melons: 30,000 to 45,000 visitors a day, comparing offers from more than 1,200 online shops.
The checkout stays with you
Kurpirkt is a meklētājs: a search engine over shop offers, not a marketplace. The customer buys on your site, and Kurpirkt may charge for the clicks it sends you.
A person reviews every shop
Each application is checked by hand before the shop enters the database. That keeps the listings clean, and it means your feed, prices and delivery terms get read by a human, not just parsed.
The feed
- The template emits exactly the eleven elements of Kurpirkt's own sample, in its order: <root> with one <item> per variant, free text in CDATA, UTF-8 by default, because UTF-8 is a stated joining condition
- name defaults to the product title plus the variant title, so sizes and colours never collide; manufacturer, category and category_full fill from the vendor and your own product types
- price goes out as a bare decimal with a dot and two places: the gross price your landing page shows, which is the one number Kurpirkt's rules care about
- in_stock is a count: Shopify's stock level with oversold variants clamped to 0, never a negative number
- delivery_cost_riga carries no forced default. Feedflock will not advertise free Riga delivery with an invented 0; you set your real flat rate
- used defaults to 0, the value Kurpirkt's own sample sends for a new product, and a per-product flag switches second-hand goods and samples to the mandatory 1
Deep dive
How the Kurpirkt feed works
- One
XMLfile hosted online and regularly refreshed: a stated condition of joining UTF-8 encoding is required, listed among the shop requirements- Kurpirkt updates its database of shops and products every day
- No upload, no
SFTP, noAPI: theURLis the whole integration
Technical details
Kurpirkt's joining conditions say it plainly: the shop prepares an XML file of its products, the file must be hosted online and regularly refreshed, and it must be saved in UTF-8. Kurpirkt then re-reads it, and the database of shops and their products is updated every day.
Feedflock hosts the file on a stable URL and regenerates it as often as every hour, so each daily re-read picks up current prices and stock. You send the URL once, in the application e-mail; there is nothing to upload again.
Eleven elements, and no barcode
- name, link, price, image, manufacturer, category, category_full, plus four marked optional: category_link, in_stock, delivery_cost_riga, used
- Requiredness is stated only negatively: the sample marks those four "nav obligāts" and leaves the other seven unmarked
- price is a bare number with a decimal point; no currency,
VATrule or length limit is stated anywhere - There is no
EAN,GTINorMPNelement, the biggest difference from Heureka, Zboží and Google
Technical details
The whole spec is one page, and its sample is the element list: eleven elements under <root>/<item>. Exactly four are annotated "nav obligāts" (category_link, in_stock, delivery_cost_riga and used), so the template treats the other seven as required. That reading by exclusion is the strongest statement the document makes.
Two things surprise merchants coming from other engines. There is no barcode element at all (no ean, no gtin, no mpn), so there is nothing to map a barcode onto. And almost nothing is quantified: no maximum lengths, no image rules, no item caps. The price is a bare decimal with a dot, and the only binding price rule is shop-level: your page must show prices and payment methods clearly.
Categories are your own tree
- Kurpirkt publishes no category taxonomy: no tree, no ids, nothing to map onto
- category is your leaf name, category_full your full path, ' > '-separated
- In the sample the path's last segment is exactly the category value
- A feed that disagrees with itself invites a rejection at the human review
Technical details
Unlike Heureka or Google, Kurpirkt publishes no category tree. category is the leaf name of your own categorization (the product type in Shopify), and category_full is the full path with every parent, separated by " > ". There is no Kurpirkt code to look up and no taxonomy to sync.
Consistency still matters: in Kurpirkt's sample the path ends with exactly the leaf name. Nothing says the portal enforces that, but every application is reviewed by a person, and a feed that disagrees with itself is an easy reason to say no.
Joining is an e-mail, reviewed by a person
- The application goes to kurpirkt@kurpirkt.lv with the feed
URLand five more items - Links to your contact and delivery pages, registration details, an admin e-mail, and the Kurpirkt.lv banner on your home page
- Every application is reviewed before inclusion; an approval e-mail follows
- No answer within a week? Resend, or phone +371 26533032
Technical details
Kurpirkt is not self-serve. You e-mail kurpirkt@kurpirkt.lv with the feed URL, links to the shop's contact and delivery information, the company's registration details and an admin e-mail address, and you confirm the Kurpirkt.lv partner banner is on your home page (the spec hands out two ready-made snippets, and exceptions are possible).
A person then reviews the shop before it enters the database. The feed cannot carry the shop-level obligations (delivery or pickup anywhere in Latvia with a stated price, a clear returns process, warranty terms); the reviewer checks them on your site. What the application asks for as a file is exactly the file Feedflock produces.
The takeaway
One URL, a daily re-read and an XML file that follows Kurpirkt's own sample element for element. Your Shopify catalog stays the single source of truth, and the human reviewer sees exactly the file the joining conditions ask for.
